Q

No sound (music, announcements, PC sounds) is working in the arena at all

A

Ensure that there is an audio connection (speakers). Check the sound volume is turned up in the Windows Control Panel. Check that the amplifier is switched on. As a test, try plugging headphones or PC speakers into the headphone jack (usually green) at the back of the game PC.

Q

The Vampires game will not start.

A

The game of Vampires has a specific start sequence. First select the Vampire game in the games list. Then select which pack you want to be a Vampire by using the “Special” function menu in the handheld / MOC phone, pointing it toward the specific pack (this must be done before you start the game). The pack should make a confirmation sound to acknowledge. Then start the game.

Q

What is an IP address?

A

An IP address is a unique string of numbers separated by full stops that individually identifies computers and related equipment to allow communication over a network. For lasertag purposes, the IP addresses of computers, peripherals and devices are set as “static” meaning they are purposefully configured to be a specific set of chosen numbers. Doing this provides for easy setup and installation as well as allowing support personnel and technicians to do simple fault finding as and if required.

Q

What is the difference between green & black circuit boards?

A

Green is Nexus Generation 1 (sometimes abbreviated to “Nexus Gen 1”, “Nexus Gen I” or “NG1”), Black is Nexus Generation 2 (sometimes abbreviated to “Nexus Gen 2”, “Nexus Gen II” or “NG2”).

Q

What is the IP address of my base (outpost)?

A

Early versions of the base (also known as an “outpost”), were set to 192.168.2.10, 192.168.2.11, 192.168.2.12, and so on. The IP addresses were changed in the next versions of the base to be 192.168.2.100, 192.168.2.101, 192.168.2.102, and so on. The latest versions of the Zone’s game units, when first powered on, will verbally announce the unit’s IP address. As an example, for a base, you might hear the unit say “One nine two dot one six eight dot two dot one-hundred” (or whatever the specific unit’s applicable IP address is) when the unit is first powered on.

Q

When playing the Infection game, no packs start.

A

The game of Infection has a specific start sequence. Any player that wishes to join the game, must pull their trigger after the game has been started, to initialise their pack.

Q

Whenever a target is tagged, the arena speaks a number.

A

The target profile you have selected is “Test”, which allows you to find out target controller IPs, and Target IDs.
